I'd just like to say that this is the only mail list I've ever deemed a
"keeper." Your discussions are interesting and intelligent, if not over
my head at times. I'm a pop music critic and on staff at a small
library, no philosopher, no scientist. But I do think that if I drive
that long road ahead of understanding more about the subjects at hand:
memes and viruses of the mind and consciou...(nevermind, I'm not going
to use that word!) ---I do think this could all apply somehow to the
function of popular music (is there such a thing?). Does this sound as
crazy or uninformed as I fear it might? Okay, I'm back to third row with
my popcorn.
