Hello-

I've had a nice browse around your website, and though I am not a joiner, I find this to be a thoughtful and well- written alternative to all the hysterical religious 'end-times' (For them, hopefully) screeching going on. Here is a book to add to your list: "Snapping: America's epidemic of personality change" by Flo Conway and Jim Siegelman. I read the first edition of this book in 1980, and they have just released an updated version of it in '98. This would go in your 'cognitive science' category.

This is a thoughtful and terrifying book, describing in detail that point in a stressful situation where a person 'snaps' and becomes a totally different being. This often happens in religious cults, but can happen in many other situations.

Another book by the same two authors "Holy Terror" is also a must-read.

Both books are available at Amazon.com

Thanks!

Lorie
