Holidays need music. Someone is going to have to be pretty damn creative to come up with songs with the word "winter solstice" that can conjure up the same warmth that Christmas songs do.
I strongly encourage
atheist parents (all parents actually) any and everywhere, to declare
parties on little or any or even no excuse - and the fact that the neighbors
are pigging out on xmas candy is a perfectly adequate reason for holding
your own saturnalia or equivalent.
