That's a great attitude to have for yourself. But you can't use it on other people. It's great to say to yourself, "mere words have no power over me unless I give them power." It's a workable position, a chosen meme useful for self-empowerment. But it most pointedly DOESN'T work to say, "people can't reasonably take offense at my words; they have no power over them unless they give them power."

Accountability only works on yourself.
