I dunno... everyone has their own "oo, it's uncle chris's birthday, then it's dad's birthday, then it's mother's day" sort of folk calendar. "We always take our holiday in the autumn, my dear." Clubs have their annual general meeting knees-up, groups of friends have regular reunions.

Everyone could send home-made email cards. And there could be a special festive ICQ fest when everyone gets drunk or on drugs.
