Deal. Faith is a tool. It may be used for good or evil. It depends on the context. In this way it is like reason, though the domain of reason and the domain of faith are not the same. Faith, in and of itself, is not a virtue just as reason, in and of itself, is not a virtue (now try to convince David McFadzen! ha!). Faith and reason are means towards purpose. If purpose is good and practice is right then either may be proper, in the absence of these things then neither is.

In other words, it is we who give things value, not some abstract idea.

That was quite elegant. I appreciate your craftsmanship.
