Reed,

Here's what tripped me up with your restaurant analogy: Your analogy was as there is mutual trust between a restaurant and a diner, so is... and now (sorry!) I forget what it was meant to illustrate. But! Nonetheless! The thing that distracted me was observing that the restaurant analogy really couldn't say that A is as B is, because A isn't at all like itself... Uh, I think that's what I mean... Only as you would like to think of it or as you would like it to be... So, to an outsider, who doesn't really understand this desire of yours, this analogy seemed strange. And it only made me want to point out that whole blinking light thing, which did lead to a very interesting little discussion and a long, even more interesting and inpsiring call for goodwill and positive sky-writing and the beginnings of a very, very close reading of Brave New World. I appreciate it. You are very intense, Reed.
