virus: tactical matters

...I've learned a lot in this forum, I'd like to continue learning.

...the things I've learned most from have been from trying to make
sense of other peoples concepts in a text based exchange. And I've learned more from questions asked than answers given.

...I think the thing I learned most from was Richard Brodie's [sp?]
story, which had nothing to do with science and memetics as such and everything to do with the purpose of this meeting as I understand it.

...so I've made a tactical decision. I'm going to limit myself to one
substantial posting a week, which I will think about, research and convey as best I can. I may pipe up now and then with the odd comment [like the cow thread currently going], but even [especially?] with that I'm going to try my best to be pointed, rather than argumentative.

...So, with apologies to anyone who feels I'm backing out in the
middle of something this is the tactic I plan to adopt. I'm pretty sure I'll learn more from constructing a cogent argument and presenting it for intelligent criticism than responding helterskelter to everything with which I disagree and I'm likewise sure I'll be able to make a more constructive contribution this way.

p.s. I don't suppose there's anybody out there with a copy of Ludwig Von Bertalanffy's "General System Theory" that they'd be willing to give up to further the education of an impoverished pilgrim?
