The ones I have seen (a few papers presented at ALife 4 and the one I
am helping on, "A Trade Coalition Game with Preferential Partner Selection")
are multi-player prisoner dilemma simulations with economic interpretations.
I think so far the simulated markets have been very thin (<50 players) so
the applicability is restricted. But for real life thin markets (i.e.
diamond wholesales) it is probably quite realistic because the players
are not assumed to be perfectly rational or have perfect information.
