I think this is a good spot at which to rest our bleeding heads.

I would also, as is my wont, add that there is a _perceived_ inability as
well, an a priori dismissal of physical/mathematical tools, mostly due to
the (false) conclusion, traditionally-based, that these are 'soft' sciences.

There is a strong adversion meme at work here against finding material
causes for 'emotional' (hell, even 'spiritual') events.
