Try :-

PI = ATAN(1)*4.0

Declare PI a Double Double Precision Variable.
This might only get you between 64 and 128 sig. figures but since
a computer chip can't handle more than that - why bother?

BTW do you know the difference between "accuracy" and "precision"?
