Hello? I just finished reading _The Golden Bough_, and while I noted
the date change and its purpose being to subsume pagan winter solstice
celebrations, I did not see any mention of Lucifer's name in this context,
nor am I familiar with Lucifer being referred to as a 'Sun God'.
Certainly he is identified with a star, and with certain aspects of Light,
but the equation star=sun is surely a modern reading from the new
understanding of stars as distant suns (rather than sun, moon, and stars
being separate and disparate sources of light). Now, I did read the
abridged version, not the original 13-volume set, so maybe Lucifer was
mentioned as a sun god in the latter, and if so, I will accept a pointer
and be suitably chastened.
