David R. suggested that CoV supports brainwashing with the following beliefs:

(1) >there are more advanced memes than the ones you have/are now,
>so what you see is not valid or believable.

(2) >You can't know anything through your current memetic structure,
>so follow the "leader" who will take you to a higher level (Level 3)

(3) >Don't hang on to your current beliefs, submit to a "belief crisis"
>in which dominant memes will take over for your own good.

(4) >A community's collective memes are more important than a lone
>individual's memes since they are more evolved. Community
>takes precedence over the individual.

To which David McF. responded with:

(1) >If this is supposed to be an attack on Richard Brodie's concept of level-3
>I don't think it is a fair characterization.

(2) >As above.

(3) >Where are you getting this from?

(4) >Again, I disagree.

David McF, what do you mean by a "fair characterization"? I am trying to
understand your position as well as what Richard is saying about so called
Level-3. Can you be more specific?

David McF:
>Of course I can't speak for Dave P.
[...]

>I can't speak for Prof. Tim either.

I agree 100% with you. What prompts you to mention such obvious facts after
long quotes you are not going to respond to?
