And unless it was clear let me add that these effects are found on the
practitioners who are patients or sufferers.

'Prayer' is also a loose term, and can be anything repetitive and
soothing, like 'om', or reciting a favorite poem, or contemplating a
scenic landscape.

This is Herbert Benson's 'relaxation response' and he is the leading
clinical experimenter in these areas.
