And we all know (though we won't readily admit it) what the patriarchy
did then : the inquisition : "Burn the Witches !", women relegated to
a secondary-role in every social sphere. and this is changing only
slowly and painfully.

Incidentally, there's also a picture I've seen of a snake on the
qabalistic tree of life.

The snake is also a phallic symbol or has to do with sex or the
knowledge thereof (or the DNA meme), or the giving of the knowledge
