You disappoint me Tim. I expected more out of you.You seemed to have
missed out on the double play of words here: Dreams are the very world
you have proposed!. Subjective reality rules supreme in this realm. Your
axiom of not equal to A works here ! People you knew , long dead talk to
you, you fly , you walk through walls you use your will to make things
levitate. Most of the time during the dream you take it as real as
anything you see in waking life! In my own dreams at night , I've
learned sometimes how to even take control! How do I know that in
subjective reality anything goes? Because I've live it in my dreams!
(Did you ever see the movie Dreamscape? It's almost a similar experiance
for me. It's led me to some of my own theories of the mind as a result
of this personnel experiance, I've expounded on them below) As for
Einstein he didn't concieve of some other world, he came up with a
better way to explain this one.
If you really want to live in a dream world Ted do what I do in
waking life. Ask yourself every now and then, am I dreaming? When your
awake you don't really need to ask yourself this question but because we
are creatures of habit we will act the same way our dreams. When you
come to the conclusion in your dream that is a dream that is where the
fun begins! I have found I cannot take total control however, it's
almost like an animal brain is controlling the background, it
communicates but gets its message across in symbols or objects. I'm
not surprised. Unlike Any Rand I'm a big fan of evolution theory. (She
was neutral , perhaps even slightly negative on this subject). I figure
in our animal past before we had the ability to use words our minds
handled concepts of the world through images and the feelings associated
with such images, in short , every night we see a ghost of our animal
past taking control of our minds throughout the night. (A pesonnel note
here about my earliest memory: Whenever I see a glass pyrex measuring
cup with red markings I get a feeling of warmth and muted delight. I
didn't know why. When I mentioned this to my mother she told me that a
baby I used to stare at her as she mixed up the formula in a glass pyrex
measuring cup with red markings! My animal mind was at work before the
rational one later took control! )
I suspect creatures evolved the habit of sleep as a simple means of
conserving energy when activity was not needed or useful. That part of
our mind responsible for sleep had no need to evolve into the state of
consiousness that we use in our waking life so it remains a relic of our
animal past to this very day. (You see a similar Phnomenon in
developing embroys: the very stages of evolution we followed to get to
where we are today are repeated in the developing shapes of the growing
embryo) To me this is more than just theory. As a man who has personally
taken control of his own dreams and confronted the animal mind within I
have experianced this firsthand. Alas , I cannot prove this to any of
you who may be reading this, much like as I cannot convince you Tim of
objective reality except as in referance to your own senses, It is by
its nature restricted to my mind alone! I could ask you to simply
believe me but as all of you know who have been following my writing
faith is the one cardinal sin I preach againest! All I can do is show
you the way I got there and hope that you can experiance this for
yourself! Then and only then, can you, will you, then know!

Then my dreams are more expansive than your reality, Nateman.  And it
shows the limitations of your Objectivism--you can't even *conceive* of
other universes.  Can you see how that might become a weakness in some
circumstances?  If Einstein couldn't concieve of other universes would we
have Special Relativity today?
