Was Douglas Hofstadter on the ballot? John Von Neumann? George Bernard
Shaw? Henry David Thoreau? Freidrich Nietzsche? Jean Sartre?

Should we just spit out names or should we specify criteria for nomination?
Are there any criteria that would disqualify a nominee ... such as being the
vector/host of a particularly virulent infection ala St. Paul? What about
visual pioneers such as Monet or Kadinsky? Does their influence still have
to be felt? How about the Polynesians who built Easter Island?
