Yes, of course I concur. But ain't that exactly where it is right now?
You guys seem to be happy swimming in the large pool, while the real
thing is miles up the tributary.

And this church may well need a list of facts, like the list of
commandments. There has been no shining revelation here. Evolution and
the discovery of DNA were the facts behind the biological revolution of
these recent centuries, but the meme is still just an idle musing about
some possible parallel evolutionary mechanism of consciousness and
culture. It's attractive, but it ain't got a fact to stand on yet. It is
certainly not to be found by a process of renaming the parts of
established psychological, sociological, aesthetic, and political
disciplines. (Or even by renaming its own gestating parts, however
organic that feels to the glossolalists so prevalent here....)

Yes, let's find that realm. But is anyone bothering to gather the
supplies for the expedition?
