List,

I must decline your nomination for Vice President of CoV. Though our
illustrious President, Richard Brodie, has veto power this trust which has
been placed in me leaves me with even less than nothing--being, in fact, the
president of *vice*, merely representing the President in his absence from
absentia (notwithstanding that with this veto he might assuredly veto
*himself* or even affirm himself as a person whose power is in *not* affirming).

My thanks to Wade for seconding the nomination, and to all of you who have
voted yea or nay. I realize that such votes cancel themselves one with the
other and that my non-acceptance thereby gives me the deciding vote; though
I would hope that Richard might yet disaffirm my disaffirmation through
vetoing his own veto--thus setting me up as his representative in honorarium.

My only other option (other than to decline) would have been to vote for
myself...such a dishonorable way to show my support for our true leader. I
will therefore support our President in all his decisions; and serve as Vice
President (in the President's stead) to the best of my abilities.
