Can I use them on Oprah?

Mendel- an interesting historical tale, yes. I suppose there may be some
inkling of a meme there. More important to me is the simple happenstance
that Mendel discovered a fact, and that he used a rigorous discipline to
get to it. (Anyone here know of an alleged report of his falsifying some
of his data...?)

Should the fact be separated from the discoverer? Why should we stop it
from doing so? Is Mendel remembered for this prize? That would be a
dilemma.

After all, prizes are prizes.... Testimonials from some governing board
of not uncasually interested personages. Or even a red Weber grill given
after a drawing of entries from a box. (Which is sitting on my back deck
even as I speak.)
