virus: i have a question

with all these great minds i have a dillemma. for the guest book on my web
page im trying to do a javascript that will say exactly how many seconds ago
the message was posted, and it will be counting up. since im surrounded here
by mathmitician and others of great mind capacity my question is what would
the formula be using only the variables of time (hour, minute, second, day,
month, year)? i know this is a tangent to the discussion on the list, but its
really nagging me and i cant find a formula. oh well. to see a cute
