I can forgive you, just repay me 2000 years labour in hell.

Nate replies:

My wife and I were watching a presentation on the Rapture/End Times the
other evening. The guys take was that just before the End Times the Rapture
was going to pull all the Xtians out of harms way, then during the End Times
anyone who saw the light was going to hang with Jesus for 1000 years. At
the end of that time God was going to call All Ye, All Ye, In Come Free and
hold Judgement Day. Everyone arises from their grave and gets sentenced.
The spin this guy gave though was that as soon as you die you start serving
your time .... It wasn't clear if God was going to let you off with time
served so if you're just a little bad during the end times then after 1000
years in hell you get to make the heavenly cut. We also thought that
sinners from say a 1000 years ago were getting the shaft since they have all
the time they've already served plus a millennium in Hell. Although perhaps
sins have different magnitudes ... its really hard to wipe out 6 million
people without an industrial base.

We thought that if God wasn't going to let at least some people off with
time served what was going to be the point .... of judgement day? I mean if
I've just spent 1000 years in Hell and God's about to tell me that I get to
spend the rest of eternity basking in the fire and brimstone then why should
I behave during my trial? We finally decided that maybe the answer lies in
a combination of Xtianity and Buddhism .... like there really is a heavenly
cycle, every 15 billion years or so people get bored in heaven, and start
this good/evil duality thing. It takes God about the life of the Universe
to get it all straightened out .... bad people down, good people up ....
Only some of the people who make the cut aren't deserving, and others are
just plain gullible so the every so often a rabble rousing Lucifer starts
the whole cycle again. Given this, what would happen if God just decided to
fold? Once a host rebelled why doesn't God just say screw it I'm not going
to fart with this universe, and take the loyal host he has and do his
heavenly thing? Or maybe he does ... only some people in Hell aren't quite
so bad so they somehow start their own heaven/god thing ... Which is the
conclusion that my wife and I finally arrived at .... Evil breeds Good,
while Good breeds Evil so you have all these philosophical cosmologies out
there actually generating new physical universes.

We thought about marketing our ideas ... but decided we weren't up to
dedicating our lives to founding yet another religion. We are putting our
ideas in the public domain. Feel free to use some of our dogma in your
dogma if it fits, your mileage may vary, etc.
