Where a person lacks the knowledge to make their own judgements,
sometimes they have to do as they're told, for their own sake. This is
clearly the case for children, and generally in learning situations.
But there's a difference between someone saying "do as I tell you until
you learn what you need to know", and their saying "all you'll ever need
to know is doing this is good and doing that is bad".
