The idea of re-inventing parenting on some wacked out Rousseauean
Natural Philosophy is fine if you want to try it ... and I'd be interested
in the results for my grand-kid's sake ... but in the short run the
speculation I've seen doesn't jibe with my experience ... the trends I see
in my son's friends who are less disciplined then him certainly don't
indicate they will turn into "well-adjusted" adults. Of course
well-adjusted is relative too .... It seems that there are certainly
positions for insufferable selfish shits the world over .... and it is my
opinion that is what Brett's group is rearing.
Without some kind of basis for measurement though the issue is just
opinion isn't it?
