First, im not a sceintist, like many of you I just read a lot, and think a lot.
As for why people come up with mystical reasons, it seems to me to be fear,
which is what i usually state. Many people cannot be happy with the notion of no
one in control. They make it up because thaey are afraid, they cannot help
themselves, just like children make up explanations for things they dont
understand. As an aside, and possibly relevant theory, my brother who is much
like myself in philosophy, recently read that young children may actually "see"
the monsters that they describe to their parents. That chald hallucination is a
survival technique from the days of looking out of the cave, or down from the
tree and seeing the monster equivelant (lion, tigers, bears etc...) He is
sending me the article.

Once again, the bible is based upon fear, I've read it, it relied on frightening
you into believing. When it comes to quality of writing, the Bible is lacking
when compared to something from Homer or other great writers. Christ himself,
who is supposed to be a proponent of love and goodness, talks more often about
bringing suffering to sinners (wringing of hands and pulling hair) everywhere (I
come with a sword)Mat 10:32

Mystical is a great word, you can use it to describe anything that isn't
understood.
