I remember seeing a report in which sounds such as babbling brooks, crashing
waves, or birdsongs were found, using realtime MIR, to be registered in a
different part of the brain for those natives of Asia than those from the
West. Those from the West "heard" these sounds using a part of the brain
which deals with noise, where Asian brains employed a region used for music
and language. I don't remember, however, if writers suggested that the
difference fell along racial or cultural lines.

Has anyone else come across similar findings?
