OK, I've reserved a copy of William Dunham's book at my local library,

will look at it soon.

Yes, I would like to know why the Babylonians used a base-60 number
system, and I even recall reading about it somewhere, but I don't
remember.

I'll do my research too, but this group might come up with it quicker,
we'll
see.

It's really interesting to me to see the propagation/mutation of memes
through cultures. Have you heard the story behind why the railroad
tracks are set at the spacing they are? If it's true, it's damned
interesting
too.
