My intent was never to shut you up. I understand that you have language
limits that you are working to expand. Fortunately, I have no more to add to
my position. My previous posts pretty well give a complete picture of my
position on race. I hope you get a chance to pick over them in detail. If I
can clarify any of it for you, do not hesitate to E-Mail me directly.
I am not part of the "anti-genetic" lobby. I very much accept the power of
genes. What I am opposed to is the rush to confirm cultural biases on the
basis of little or no actual genetic evidence. A lot of the genetic evidence
that is out there was not collected to study race. Race as a genetic concept
has not been established. A lot of studies that are based on racial
distinction do not have a genetic component.
I am sorry if I seemed agressive with you. Race is a touchy subject in this
country. I certainly don't want to shut anyone up on this subject, but I also
am not willing to quietly accept assumptions that people make about race.
Silence is often misinterpreted as agreement, and I don't want people to
misunderstand me on this subject.
