My quick take on all this matches up with my recent reading of Wilson's
Consilience- it is about time we took a look at this kind of behavior on
a genetic level, on a cellular level, on a neuro-biological level, 'cause
all the philosophy is naught but a gasbag of noxious waste.

We survive sometimes pointlessly. Shelter from the storm demands public
monies and engages NGO do-gooders with off-season careers. Nothing has
been learned from the effects backwards.

The only answers lie inside the brain. The methods to get there are
coalescing.

Life finds a way.
