more shameless transmission of the rhubarb meme

I believe definition 3 has its origins in baseball, tho being an
australian and more partial to cricket I cannot say for sure.
its also what you get your crowd scene to say in theatre when you need
them to sound like they are all animatedly conversing, which is rather
apt.
It can reasonably be argued that rhubarb is more inherently amusing than
any other vegetable, and therefore adds a small but useful component to
the COV's meme complex.
but it works best when you say it... try it now !
