Though memes might produce errors (mistakes in the
copying of information)... I don't think that this
possibility is the best one for suggestion how an
ORDERED progression from one memetic form to
another "evolves". I suggest (and it has been
suggested before) that memetic evolution is due to
"intentionality" (that is, certain preferred
patterns are progressively implemented according
to an inherent ordering-- such that a more highly
evolved pattern must replace the former due to its
*superior* organization... rather than attributing
this new organization to chance and "mutation" ["spontaneous
generation"]).
