<<What does Dawkins or any of the other names
you mentioned say about behavioural patterns?>>

Dawkins has quite a lot to say in The Extended Phenotype. For Dennett's
views, read Consciousness Explained and Darwin's Dangerous Idea (especially
ch. 12). Plotkin also has quite a lot to say in Darwin Machines. I summarize
all of it in Virus of the Mind. More info on all of these books at
http://www.brodietech.com/rbrodie/books.htm

Behavior is the result of many forces, chief among them instinct, memes, and
self-organizing social interaction (heading for the exits after a football
game).
