I am not quite sure if this will help you at all, but there is a version
of the U of Toronto's TACT program (textual analysis computing tools) freely
available at http://www.chass.utoronto.ca:8080/cch/tact.html. This is
a great thing to use if you want to find specific or related word frequency
within a specific electronic text, distribution of said configuration(s),
and even who said what when. The only drawback to this handy little tool
is that the text must be tagged appropriately, and the program itself is
rather complex. Additionally, as far as I know, there are no documentation
sources currently available, either on paper or electronically.

There is also MTAS, another textual analysis tool, which is not as good
as TACT, but whatever. You can find the source code and program at
ftp://ftp.epas.utoronto.ca/pub/cch/mtas/. I don't generally use this
program, but you may find it useful. Let me know if these tips help--
