Well, Im back after 3 weeks of road trips for the office - there are
close to 400 messages in my box, so I dont think Ill be able to keep up
with everything over the last few weeks. Here is the news:

Richard: I finally bought your book and will be going through it over
the next week or so - Hopefully this will equip me with the tools to
handle this subject better and Ill thnk you for it. If not, you'll hear
about that too - at any rate, I hope the paultry few dollars I spent go
to your good use.

Tim: Sorry to miss the last of the 1000 yr argument. Ill try to cath up
with it, but am not too interested in continuing the eternal debate, and
i suspect on that point we agree.

Wade and Tim: After looking at the short string about Extracranial vs.
Neural - this string looks interesting but I need some more info. First,
i was not aware that there were, on any real scale, very many
"professionals" in the field of memetics. At the moment, it seems as
though most of the field is being held aloft by the famous "skyhook". I
agree with Richard that we should know how memes spread - and i think
that this understanding may help with other definitions, but I also feel
that better definitions would mke the field easier to grapple with
mentally, and make it easier to follow the course of memes.

As sson as I catch up with some of this, I'll start posting again.
Anyway, nice to be back.
