I'm not sure. Depending on the manufacturing method, duct tape
can hold up. So if you get a virus out there to not use duct tape,
and then several brands start claiming superior quality to those
used in the tests, you start getting conflicts, and the virus either
goes extinct or mutates. If it goes extinct, it has served it's purpose
(increase energy efficiency). But if it mutates in some direction,
you might end up with contractors spurning even high grade duct
tape in favor of other, more expensive, methods. In this case,
the energy efficiency will increase, but cost will go up above the
necessary levels. Hmm.
