I think creativity is strongly rooted in experience and re-association[1],
and that the language-based system of thought we use ultimately imposes
limits on what a single individual can think of (although possibly NOT on
long term structures such as "civilization", i.e. language evolves, but not
as fast as people die...)

[1] Speaking of creativity, how's this for a definition: creativity is
effective search through idea-space (ala Kelly). I'm working on
integrating this with the TCS definition of coercion, to see if I can
"predict" that coercion damages thinking processes (rationality) and
creative ability (intuition). The former is quite clear (axiomatic, even),
but the latter is claimed in practice and unsupported in theory because
definitions are lacking.
