Almost as if... myths are mnemonic devices and no more. Shouldn't be
surprised the xtian church does things like this, it's just a little frond
of the xtian memetic tree: another way the ideas/culture have come across
which helps keep brains receptive to the xtian meme(s/complex). I've
probably said this before but we visited China this year and saw these
incredible buddha statues in caves carved out of a cliff face, and the
statues, even though they mean nothing to me, tell the life story of the
buddha formerly known as a prince. If you went there and your memory
(memery?) of buddhist teachings was fading, seeing the statues would help
tighten up all those associations. And hundreds of people troop through
there, constantly. It's like a broadcast, only the audience come to the
broadcast rather than the broadcast coming to the people.
