virus: Scientology

Thank you all for sharing information on Scientology. I did go to the
workshop. There were two instructors and two people in the audience
(including myself). They are obviously not doing as well as Tony Robbins.
They still went through the whole thing with two of us.

There was a short video on the Dianetics technique: auditing, ie listening
(no John Travolta movies...). One person leads the other through incidents
which happened in his/her life. They call them engrams. The main objective
is to identify them and to bring them to conscious awareness and deal with
them rather them denying them. This is common to most self-development
workshops I know of: to get rid of the staff in our mind which stops us from
doing better (I should say "using more useful memes"). It was worth
experiencing.

No pressure to buy anything or to sign up for further seminars (they said
they would call me in the future, though). I bought a $12 book titled "Self
Analysis" with exercises.
