Thanks, Eric. The background and commentary helped out a lot. I think
the style of interaction Reed related and you elucidated is a valuable
one to employ in a variety of social contexts. I hadn't thought that
the CoV was one of them, but if everyone else aggrees to play that way
when the "memetic wake-up call" is invoked, I will do likewise. I
realize that I don't post frequently enough these days to get drawn into
such an impasse, but I appreciate that people do invest themselves in
the positions they've taken, and a direct challenge to that position
will most often result in deepened entrechment. Thanks for taking the
