<grin> <GRIN> <ROTFL>!!

This has to be a joke! Where is the smily, Brett?

One of the things Jesus said:

"Why do you look at the speck of dust in your brothers eye and pay no
attention to the plank in your own eye? "How can you say to your
brother, "Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye," when you
yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first
take the plank out of your own eye, so that you might see clearly to
remove the speck from your brothers eye." Luke 6:41-42

(this quote is really fun to use against f. Christians)

<start unrelated story>

After Evelyn condemned me for even thinking that I could start my own
Church, I reminded her that she is not to judge others....

She said this was "different"

I laughed, and read her the above verse.

She still said "this is different. You are perverting scripture"

So then I read her this one:

"Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You
hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: "These
people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught my men"
Matt 15:6b-9

But her faith is not shaken. I keep getting the distinct feeling that
she "forgets" everything I say to her immediatly after I hang up...

But anyway, the point of that phone call was not to make fun of her. I
called her up originally to recommend "Contact" to her. And I also
asked her if she wished to help me with my Church. I told her that I
knew I had a plank in my own eye, and that I would be grateful for her
help. But she refused. Doesn't want me to do this "Church" thing at

I reminded her that even Jesus was known to dine with "sinner and tax
collectors", and that as a Christian, part of her job was to help
unbeleivers redeem themselves.

Didn't convince her, though. Damn close minded Christians! So

So anyway, I'm looking for people who will review my Church's material,
both as I create it and over the long term.

Hey David, you once said

I'd like to take you up on that offer. My I have a mailing list?

... so tell me fellow virians, how do I even talk to her, now? I can't
peddle atheist "answers", she won't listen to me when I quote scripture,
and she doesn't listen to reason. Is all hope for communication dead?
