I think we should distinguish between various types of tools,
extent ions, sensors, accessories, etc., and the core of our
identity that you would not call "just a tool".
An interesting exercise is to completely modularize your
perception of personal identity, and consider all of your
parts as externalizable (I hope this word hints at a few
things that I want to express) accessories.
