The "they should be arrested" meme is still very powerful amoung members of
organized religouns. It is a powerful tactic, and one that worked for
centuries.
Some religouns still have strongholds of power, where disobeying the
teachings
is confused with disobeying the law. Theoretically, my State will protect
me from
your Church, but there are problems even there, as a result of corruption.
