virus: Running around in circles

Since everyone seems to be talking about circles, perhaps someone
might be able to answer a question for me.

Why does a circle have 360 degrees?

I guess, potentially, the question might be: What is the origin of
the degree?

Sort of mathematical meme questioning.....
