virus: our domain name...

not that this will matter to anyone, but sometimes I wish we would package=
ourselves to be a bit more marketable to the general public, a couple=
superficial alterations and we'd be good to go, for instance, our domain=
name lucifer.com, I realize that it's supposed to be figurative and=
symbolic and all and that it represents a challenge to traditional Xian=
thought, but why fight back with "their" terminology? and why name your=
domain such that every time you tell it to someone you have to explain that=
we're not really satanists, we just use him figuratively. if we want to=
infect and spread we should tend to our appearance. we don't need to change=
anything but our url. Skeptical, humanist, agnostic, and atheist thought=
seep into the mainstream through seemingly harmless venues: magazines,=
books, science, etc. these thoughts can't go under the radar of ordinary=
people while attached to the name lucifer. i don't think we should change a=
bit inside, but our surface should be more representative of our beliefs.=
what do a bunch of atheists/agnostics want with the name lucifer anyway? we=
should give people a chance to see what we're about rather than scaring=
them away before giving us a chance. i really don't care much personally=
what our domain is, but for the sake of spreading it only makes sense to=
make the changes. i realize that this letter is unlikely to change many=
minds, considering max moore seems to have been the one to suggest the=
name, but i hope people will consider it. damn it, no time, have to get=
across campus in 5 minutes. tell me what you think. cya
