Aren't the PSI seminars somewhat like this as well? From all accounts I have
heard they sound like they are cut from the same cloth... someone should look
into those as well... the public in general are followers and are not good at
making up their own minds... It is always easier to let someone else do the
thinking, but, that laziness has caused downfall on many levels as history has
shown us time and again!

And what of the right to free speech? If the author of the article is
speaking of her own experiences then shouldn't she have that right under the
1st amendment? After all, she went to their seminar and experienced it first
hand! It seems to me that if her right to freespeech is being infringed upon
then the ACLU should step in, the L.E. is trying to exercise some damage
control is all that it boils down to. If they sue the magazine for running the
article and scream they were treated unjustly by Elle's writer then it will
get them some free press and perhaps boost their rolls abit.. How can you sue
someone for writing about what they experienced? In all honesty, I don't see
how you could... Why not just ask the editor's of Elle if they couldn't have
an article that gives a counter view point or write one for publication
elsewhere? But then you wouldn't get the cash you may get should the case go
to court and the L.E. get a favorable judgement... I don't look at this as
anything but a freespeech issue...
and one in which I personally hope Elle wins...

The world has indeed gone sideways...
