In a message dated 98-09-15 10:38:31 EDT, you write:

<< The reason for bringing this up was not so much to make a point,
it was to ask for guidance. What should be done in this kind of
situation? Should we let people believe whatever they want even
if it appears to be self-destructive? >>

I personally view it this way.....

There is an old saying... " the good lord helps those who help themselves.."

if you refuse to get the help you need and figure your god didn't put the
tools here for you to use then you have to answer for it and accept the
consequences of your actions...

if a child is involved then someone should intervene... it's one thing for an
adult to behave in a way that can be detrimental to themselves... it's a whole
other thing if they are allowing a child to be harmed... and religious ideas
should not be a concideration then... you do what is best for the physical
well being of the child, period...

enough said....
