Melatonin also works well for increasing and intensifying dreams (and it
gives you a sound sleep as well). 3-6 mg. orally or 1-2 mg.
sublingually.[1] Melatonin, in addition to being a naturally occuring
hormone, is also a tryptamine, 5-methoxy-N-acetyl-tryptamine to be exact.
When it's metabolized by the pineal gland[2] it's converted into
5-methoxy-tryptamine which has been shown to prolong and deepen the time
spent in REM sleep. Take it 20 minutes before you go to bed.

[1] I recommend the sublingual form since it can be absorbed through the
oral mucosa and directly into the bloodstream. The dosage is more
consistant and requires smaller quantities since the sublingual form does
not need to be metabolized by the liver before entering the bloodstream.

[2] The pineal gland was traditionally known as the "third eye" and was
once thought to be the source of visions and "second sight". Melatonin is
closely related to DMT (dimethyl-tryptamine) and other potent hallucinogens
so it should not be surprising that it may play a role in the production of
dreams. And considering the function of the pineal gland in producing and
metabolizing the bodies own melatonin, perhaps labeling it our "third eye"
was never that far off in the first place.
